Thursday, November 15 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM | 196C « Back

Abstract Text:

Hear firsthand from Parksmart early adopters how and why they achieved triple-bottom-line performance of their parking assets. The architect-executive director of the Massachusetts College Building Authority will explain how sustainability infuses all of the organization’s development, and how Parksmart certification lowered the new construction project’s financing costs. The general manager of the Friends of Post Office Square, and a Director of the Boston Business Improvement District, will detail extraordinary and ever-evolving sustainability features of a seven-level below ground parking structure in Boston’s financial district which supports physically and financially a public park recognized by both the Urban Land Institute and the Project for Public Spaces. Finally the Senior Partner of the private equity/real estate investment manager LimeTree Capital and China CEO of WE PARK will explore how he is leveraging Parksmart to help define a parking asset class in China and the story of the historic Parksmart certification of a multifunctional complex housing creative lifestyle businesses in Chengdu, China. Each market leader will explain the key sustainability elements of their Parksmart-certified projects, the motivation behind the certification, and the broader impact of their parking and transportation sustainability work.
