Product Transparency requests can be a major headache for manufacturers. Requests for Health Product Declarations (HPDs), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Red List Free products, Declare labels and so forth can be complicated and time consuming. This session will explore the product transparency landscape and explain the drivers behind these health and environmental product transparency requests. The session will focus on how large institutional and green building rating systems like LEED, WELL and LBC are rewarding manufacturers who provide product transparency information with points and even orders for products. The session will highlight best practices from manufacturers participating in these programs and share easy to understand best practices for managing product transparency information. William Paddock, Managing Director of WAP Sustainability will lead the session along with Philip Ivey Strategic Sustainability Leader for Milliken & Company and Ranae Anderson, Global Sustainability Leader for Universal Fibers.

Learning Objectives:

A&D Teams and Project Specifiers will gain insights into the challenges of creating Material Health Transparency Documents like Health Product Declarations, Declare Labels and Manufacturing Inventories to support LEED v4 BD+C BPDO- Material Ingredients.

Manufacturers & Suppliers will learn tips and tricks for managing material health transparency in a streamlined manner. Best practices from presenting manufacturers and other leading companies will be shared as a way to support BPOD-Material Ingredients within LEED v4 BD+C.

The business case for 3PV material health documentation will be introduced and shared with all participants including examples of the types of issues identified and resolved through the 3PV Process to support LEED v4 and LEED v4.1 MRc4 Option 1 and Option 2 credits.

Will introduce a business case for 3PV material health documentation which supports LEED v4 BD+C BPOD-Material Ingredients in Option 1 and Option 2.
