With over 20 years of experience and advanced subject-matter expertise in sustainable design and construction, Chris Forney is one of the country’s most experienced sustainability practitioners. He is an owner and principal of Brightworks Sustainability, one of the most trusted sustainability consulting firms in the United States and a recognized leader in the green building industry. Chris leads Brightworks’ work in Boston, New York, Chicago, Cleveland, and Los Angeles, helping clients and building teams around the country define sustainability programs that fulfill project objectives and capture unique opportunities for innovation, creative problem-solving, and project value. His clients range from Google, Hyatt, LinkedIn, and Related to Caltech, the Cleveland Clinic, Oregon Health & Science University, and UCLA. He is a former board member of the Cascadia Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, for which he has volunteered for more than ten years. He is also a member of the Living Building Challenge Collaborative and the Living Future Congress, where he leads a group of regional thought-leaders on how to advance advocacy for deep green buildings in the Pacific Northwest.
