Rachel brings over 15 years’ experience in the building industry, spanning five countries, to her role as Director of Sustainability. Focusing on the engineering and design of high-performance, net-zero energy buildings, her career has been founded on a passion for energy efficient building technologies and renewable energy systems. Prior to her current role, Rachel worked as an architectural designer and building performance analyst for internationally recognized firms in the USA and Europe. In addition to over 5 years teaching experience, Rachel has presented at Colleges, Industry Groups, Government Agencies and both national and local conventions. Her passion for, and expertise in, the analytical, design, health and wellness aspects of the built environment were a natural fit for spearheading RNLs path to becoming a certified B Corp in 2015. RNL Design is an employee-owned international architecture and planning firm with a focus on sustainability at all scales of the built environment, and has offices in Denver, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Abu Dhabi. RNL was the first design firm of its size to become certified and is active in the local and global B Corp community. Rachel leads the RNL ‘B Team’ and has been heavily involved in RNL’s participation in the year-long global B Corp Inclusion Challenge, which RNL is leveraging to address the significant diversity issues in the architectural profession, and gain further experience in equity by design strategies. In 2016 RNL was recognized by B Labs as “Best for the World” in the worker category, recognizing the care we take to protect our most valuable asset - our people.
