Kirsten Ritchie, a Principal and Director of Sustainable Design at Gensler, has over 30 years of experience in the world of green building and sustainable materials. Always focused on ways to make our built environment a healthier, happier and more environmentally sound place, she is a passionate advocate for innovative, science based approaches to reduce our environmental footprint while improving the human experience. In her role as Director of Sustainable Design, Ms. Ritchie works with a broad range of clients and project types, helping develop the sustainable performance strategies, including material and product criteria and then guiding the execution through design and construction. Past and current clients include Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), Fairmont Resorts, Google, Lockheed, Oracle, Salesforce, SFO, Santa Rosa Junior Community College, and UCSF. She is a past member of the USGBC Board of Directors and MR-TAG, and currently serves as Board Director of the Green Electronics Council and the Bay Area Council, and as Advisory Board Member of the Ecological Building Network.
