As the director of sustainable services for Miron Construction, Theresa’s role is to inspire sustainability throughout Miron’s culture, integrate “green” into their business practices and construction operations, lead their sustainable education program, and serve as the Project Administrator for projects seeking LEED and WELL certification. Theresa has worked on over 80 projects seeking LEED certification utilizing numerous LEED rating systems and has led the certification process across many market segments that have successfully been awarded Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Many of her projects are highly regarded, especially those in which enhance human health and wellbeing. Examples include the award-winning build-out of the LEED Gold Aspirus Anya Marie Jackson NICU, the renovation and expansion of the Lake Mills Middle School, the first public K-12 school in the world to earn LEED Platinum, and Lake Mills Elementary School, the only K-12 project to pilot the LEED v4 Beta program, which was awarded LEED Platinum, was the recipient of the 2015 Green Ribbon by the US Dept of Education, was selected by ENR as the 2016 “Best of the Best” K-12 schools in the country, and who’s story was told for nine pages of Rick Fedrizzi’s book, “Green Think.”. The team benchmarked the students’ health and test score metrics and continues to measure them. The results are jaw-dropping. Named in ENR magazine's top 20 under 40 and honored as the youngest LEED Fellow in 2012, Theresa is credentialed as a WELL AP, LEED AP BD+C, ID+C, LEED Faculty, and WELL Faculty. She is an active WELL and USGBC volunteer serving on many committees and working groups, and was identified as a Subject Matter Expert serving on several LEED and WELL exam development and review committees.
