Lynn N. Simon, FAIA, LEED Fellow, is a recognized pioneer in the green building industry as well as an entrepreneur and catalyst for change. As a Senior Vice President at Thornton Tomasetti, Lynn leads the Western Regional Sustainability Practice and consults on millions of square feet of projects. Lynn is responsible for providing strategic guidance nationally, and for facilitating and managing complex projects. Lynn is an experienced and popular speaker on sustainable design, project management, and leadership topics such as facilitation skills and coaching. She has led Green Building and the LEED Rating System workshops throughout United States and internationally; led training and facilitation workshops for Google, Carrier Corporation, USGBC and Thornton Tomasetti; and been interviewed on KQED's Forum and KZSU Stanford 90.1 FM The Modern Architect Radio Show and Podcast about green building. Lynn has also been a design juror on international design competitions. Lynn served on both the AIA San Francisco and USGBC Board of Directors, LEED and Education Steering Committees, and was Co-Chair of Greenbuild 2012. Lynn is currently Chair of Thornton Tomasetti’s Inclusion and Diversity Committee and Co-Chair of Women@TT in the San Francisco office. In 2011, Lynn was honored with USGBC’s President’s Award and in 2017, the Women in Sustainability Leadership Award from gb&d magazine. Lynn holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Washington. Lynn is also a certified professional coach through New Ventures West.
